Last weekend, I jailbroke my Kindle following the instructions from https://kindlemodding.org/. It was easier than I expected, and now I can sync all kinds of ebook formats to it and install additional software (e.g., an alternative reader, a Libby client or even Linux). It made me feel like a proper hacker and inspired me to draw this comic using all the pop culture clichés there are for depicting a *real* hacker. 😄 #did #diday #digitalindependenceday

Socialising can trigger anxieties in me, I would replay certain situations over and over in my head and ruminate on whether I could have done or said anything differently. My brain feels like it's on fire, I can even hear it buzzing. I’ve learned to be kinder to myself during these ruminations and also just to be amused by what I sometimes ruminate about. To paraphrase the comedian DeAnn Smith: “Instead of saying I suffer from anxiety, I'd rather say my brain sparkles from imaginary dangers!” ✨

I often come up with ideas in the shower. Not necessarily good ideas, but ideas... And I just recently learned that this is actually a known phenomenon called "Shower Thoughts", and that there are entire websites dedicated to it! Anyway, this was one of my brilliant idea the other day:

For weeks now, I’ve been trying to draw this dream that I had, but I just couldn’t get it right… This morning, I decided to ignore the panel framing, and out of the blue (pun intended) everything just made more sense… (There are still more things in this picture that I’m not happy about, but that’s almost always the case with every drawing… Posting it forces me to stop going back and tweaking it. 🙅🏻‍♀️)

Ever since I watched season 3, episode 7 of 'The Bear', I've been completely obsessed with Adrianne Lenker's song 'No Machine'. And I've been learning it during my Christmas break, so it somehow has become a Christmas song for me. 😄 Happy holidays!

Well, after two weeks of a very persistent cold and a lot of bad TV, I've finally come to the conclusion that...

I couldn't look at pumpkins without also thinking about Yayoi Kusama. So after watching a documentary about her last week, I started making a special version of the “Yay! It’s pumpkin season!!!” drawing.

The weather in Berlin just went from sunny and hot to absolutely gray and cold, skipping all the golden autumn days in between. The only consolation is that you can buy pumpkins everywhere now... to make pumpkin soup, pumpkin pasta, oven pumpkin, snack on pumpkin seeds, use pumpkins to decorate, ...

My mind sometimes goes into overdrive, imagining all sorts of terrible things that could go wrong. One time, as I was trying to sleep, it ran out of ideas for real-life threats and decided to imagine a giant black hole in the middle of my bedroom floor. At first, I was feeling dreaful about how dark and endlessly deep the hole was. But then, I started to find the absurdity of it more and more amusing. Like, really brain? This is what you could come up with to scare me? Come on! 🙄

For a few weeks now, I've been having very vivid dreams. In one of the dreams, I was free diving in the ocean and swam alongside a very friendly manta ray.

To the 2 dudes who said "Konnichiwa" to me last night on Warschauerstraße... First of all, I speak Chinese, so it's 你好 (ni hao), you idiots. And second of all, in case you didn't hear me clearly enough... Fuck off!

The moment at a party when you realize that the small talk is not going so well... You try to pep talk your brain into coming up with some interesting questions, but it’s already very busy with figuring out what to do with your body language and facial expressions.

That one time when I stepped on a bumble bee and wrote a silly song about it. (The melody is from Friends’ “Smelly Cat”. 😅)

That one time when I caught a huuuuuge spider and I had to read everything about it on the internet to deal with my panic.

I’ve been trying to learn more about how to take care of my finances. And as a true millennial, I started that by subscribing to a bunch of podcasts & social media accounts. I then got distracted by something else on social media, and forgot about the podcasts… and my finances…

Another good thing about WFH is, I can loudly (and badly) sing along to guilty pleasure songs, while waiting for my code to be deployed. 🎤

Who would have thought that reading up on all of these serial killers on Wikipedia after binge watching 2 seasons of “Mindhunter” was a really bad idea? I obviously didn’t!

What an eventful week! And I lost my voice today due to too much talking. Now I‘m happy, but very tired. The plan for the long weekend is to listen to audiobooks, eat chips & draw stuff... OK, I’ll also eat some veggies & hydrate from time to time, but that’s it! #AmbivertLife
